John Galliano has been tipped to present an award to Anna Wintour at this year's British Fashion Awards on December 1.
John Galliano will honour Anna Wintour at this year's British Fashion Awards.
The 57-year-old fashion designer - who was fired from Dior in 2011 for making racist slurs outside a Parisian café and finally returned to the industry as creative director of Maison Martin Margiela last month - has reportedly been called on to present the US Vogue Editor with her Outstanding Achievement Award.
According to WWD, industry sources have confirmed John is planning a trip to London next week - coinciding with the awards which will be held at the London Coliseum on December 1 - where he is set to present the fashion icon with prestigious accolade.
Both Vogue and the British Fashion Council are yet to confirm the reports.
Anna, 65 - who is credited for nurturing ''some of the world's most brilliant and creative designers'' - will receive the sought after award in honour of her contribution to the fashion industry.
Chairman of the British Fashion Council, Natalie Massenet MBE said: ''Anna Wintour has helped, nurtured and advised the careers of some of the world's most brilliant and creative designers. There isn't a person working in fashion who has not been inspired and influenced by Anna's leadership.
''As one of Britain's most successful exports, it is fitting to celebrate Anna Wintour's lifetime of achievement in London.''
Alexander McQueen and JW Anderson are also in the running to take home an award at this year's ceremony.
The labels have scored two nominations each, with Irish-born designer Anderson up for the Menswear and Womenswear Designer of the Year titles, while British fashion house McQueen is in the running to take home the best Brand and Red Carpet Designer prizes.
