John Galliano's eponymous fashion house will skip Men's Fashion Week in Paris next month while they search for a new manufacturer.
John Galliano's eponymous brand will miss out on Men's Fashion Week.
The fashion house - which was helmed by disgraced designer Galliano until he was fired for making anti-Semitic remarks in 2011 - is expected to miss out on the Paris event next month and won't be showing their spring 2014 collection.
The brand, spearheaded by British designer Bill Gaytten, is absent from the preliminary calendar released by the French Fashion Federation, which features more than 50 shows over five days from June 25 to 29, WWD reports.
The reason behind the absence is thought to be financial struggles linked to Italian fashion manufacturer Ittierre SpA, which recently asked the Court of Isernia for help in avoiding bankruptcy.
John Galliano is currently looking for a new manufacturing partner and is expected to return to the men's schedule next January.
Meanwhile, former head designer Galliano has finally landed on his feet following his dismissal from his namesake company and his creative director post at Dior three years ago.
The 53 year old has started a role as L'Etoile's new creative director, making his grand return during a special catwalk event in Russia last week.
He will be in charge of creating communication strategies and brand images for the cosmetics company, as well as developing make-up and accessories collections.
