Rocker Courtney Love ditched her macrobiotic diet plans when she gained 50 pounds (22.6 kilograms) eating what Gwyneth Paltrow's chef served up for her.
The former Hole singer recently hit the headlines after shedding 44 pounds (19.9 kilograms) in four months, crediting a good diet and yoga for the weightloss.
And now she admits she previously tried to follow actress Paltrow's healthy example - and adopted a macrobiotic diet in a bid to lose weight.
She tells America's People magazine, "I gained 40 to 50 pounds on macrobiotic food.
"I had Gwyneth's cook, who does macro food. I thought, 'It can't make me fat - he's Gwyneth's cook!' (But) I saw those pictures and thought, 'Oh my God!' 182 pounds. (That) does not look good on me. Nothing fit (sic)."
So Love ditched her macrobiotic diet and adopted a strict no carbohydrate one instead.
She adds, "I drink shakes and exercise... Two shakes and one meal: fish and broccoli really does work!"
And to make sure she wasn't tempted, she had a lock put on her refrigerator and told her daughter Frances to hide all her treats.
She explains, "My daughter Frances has her carbs in one drawer. I don't know where it is."
