Courtney Love was caught up in the UberPOP protest in Paris, France, today (25.06.15) when her cab was battered by striking tax drivers.
Courtney Love's taxi was attacked with ''metal bats'' during the UberPOP taxi protest in Paris today (25.06.15).
The 50-year-old rock star was left terrified as protesters in the French capital began striking the car as they rampaged through the city.
The Hole singer was ''held hostage'' in the vehicle for an hour, before she and her diver paid motorcyclists to ''sneak'' them out of the mayhem.
Courtney took to Twitter to inform her followers what was happening and ask for help as well as warning Kanye West - who is in Paris to attend the Louis Vuitton Menswear fashion show - to stay away from the carnage.
Her first post read: ''Dude @kanyewest we may turn back to the airport and hide out with u. picketers just attacked our car #ParisUberStrike (sic)''
She then insisted she would be ''safer in Baghdad'' before hitting out at French President François Holland over his handling of the protest.
She tweeted: ''They've ambushed our car and are holding our driver hostage. they're beating the cars with metal bats. this is France? I'm safer in Baghdad ... François Hollande where are the f***ing police??? is it legal for your people to attack visitors? Get your a*s to the airport. Wtf??? (sic)''
She continued: ''How on earth are these people allowed to do this? the first car was destroyed, all tires slashed... paid some guys on motorcycles to sneak us out, got chased by a mob of taxi drivers who threw rocks, passed two police and they did nothing (sic)''
Confirming she and her driver were safe, she tweeted: ''We got out after being held hostage for an hour thanks to these two guys. I'm scared out of my wits.... (sic)''
French taxi drivers have gone on a nationwide strike, disrupting snarling traffic in all the major cities, following weeks of tensions and complaints about taxi app Uber.
The aggrieved drivers claim the service is costing them their livelihoods and the taxi wars have resulted in almost 100 Uber drivers being assaulted in recent weeks.
