Macklemore freaked out when he discovered his wife, Tricia Davis, was pregnant with their first child.
The 32-year-old rapper, who recently revealed he suffered a drugs relapse last year, admits he initially feared he wasn't ready to be a father, but fell completely in love with their three-month-old daughter, Sloane Ava Simone, as soon as she was born in May.
The 'Same Love' hitmaker said: ''It was just like, you know, 'God, I'm not ready for this right now. I am not ready to be a father, Like, I can't even get sober.' And it was one of those, just like, 'Please, like, don't, you know, please don't be pregnant.' And I heard tears from the bathroom. I was like, 'Oh my God, I know what those tears mean...it was quickly this, like, wake-up call. I got sober and I got happy again.
''She's a big baby. She's a 10-pound baby, and [with] a big-a** head and I was like, 'This is, this is my child.' It's this unconditional love that happens instantaneously.''
The Grammy winner and Tricia only recently announced their daughter's birth and also revealed they secretly tied the knot in June.
The 'Thrift Shop' star tries to spend as much time as possible with Sloane and plays rap music when she cries.
Speaking in a clip for his new MTV News mini-documentary, 'Macklemore: Fully Human,' he said: ''I try to take her on a walk in the morning. Get some coffee, walk back, put in a mile and a half or something like that.
''I feel like she really likes Snoop Dogg. Like, 'Gin and Juice,' for some reason, just calms her down...and I've used it a couple of times and it's like, worked every time.''
