Rapper Killer Mike Has Lashed Out At The Hate-filled Gunman Who Killed Nine People At A Historic Black Church In Charleston, South Carolina On Wednesday Night (17jun15).
The Run The Jewels star, who is also a leading human rights activist, was among the celebrities appalled by the news of Dylann Roof's alleged hate crime, and he has taken to Twitter to voice his feelings.
The rapper writes, "What happened in Charleston is an act of terror committed by a terrorist. Simple & plain. I wish those folks in that church had been armed."
And when one follower challenged him by stating "more guns does not help. No one should carry a gun to pray", Killer Mike responded, "yet it Wud (would) have lessened that body count. For that reason I strongly disagree with you."
He added, "I know no one attacks NRA (National Rifle Association) meetings. Wonder why...? I will NEVER be pro gun control. long as blacks can be killed by the state and terrorist."
Stars including Chris Pratt, Patricia Arquette, Mandy Moore, Kerry Washington, and John Legend, have also hit social media with their thoughts about the drama and prayers for the families of those people killed, and on Thursday (18Jun15), outspoken Tyler, The Creator offered his take, urging the media not to portray the gunman sympathetically.
He sarcastically tweeted: "'HE WAS A GOOD KID; QUIET; EVERYONE IS SHOCKED; *shows younger photos with smiles* STRAIGHT A STUDENT; MENTAL HEALTH' IS THE USUAL PLAY."
