Friends, family and fans bid a final farewell to tragic Argentine rocker Gustavo Cerati on Friday (05Sep14) as he was laid to rest in Buenos Aires.
The Latin Grammy Award winner, who fronted the band Soda Stereo, passed away on Thursday (04Sep14), more than four years after suffering a stroke following a gig in Venezuela. The health crisis left him in a coma, which the 55 year old never recovered from.
A memorial for Cerati was held in Argentina's capital on Friday, when thousands of fans braved the rain to join in the funeral procession as his coffin was transported by hearse to the La Chacarita cemetery, where he was buried in a private ceremony.
Mourners at the service included Cerati's mother, Lilian Clark, and his former bandmate Hector 'Zeta' Bosio.
