Courtney Stodden parted ways with husband Doug Hutchison because their 35-year age difference was too difficult to overcome.
Courtney Stodden split from Doug Hutchison because she wanted her ''freedom'' back.
The 19-year-old reality star has opened up about her recent separation from her 53-year-old husband, blaming the 35-year age difference for the breakdown of their three-year marriage.
Asked what was behind their break-up, Courtney tearfully admitted to E! News: ''My age, obviously ... I couldn't neglect my desires and wanting to embrace my independence and freedom.''
The buxom blonde - who appears heavily made-up and covered in glitter in the video interview - explained that flying to the UK alone to take part in 'Celebrity Big Brother' earlier this year made her realise their controversial love was doomed.
She explained: ''I missed him, but not intimately ... I was definitely scared but I think I felt more pressured and responsible. When we got married, he lost his family.
''His managers dropped him, his agent put a pin in his career, he lost his friends, and I became his world. I felt like there was a lot of weight on my shoulders.''
Courtney was propelled into the spotlight in May 2011 when she tied the knot with Doug in a Las Vegas wedding aged just 16, and she is now excited to make the most of being a ''little girl'' again.
She said: ''I got that it was unconventional but I didn't get how weird and strange it came across ... I am happy and I am excited. I feel like a little girl again. Just being able to start over. When I was 16, I got my marriage license instead of my driver's license.''
