Glee star Cheyenne Jackson has wed his longtime partner in New York.
The former Broadway performer has been dating physicist Monte Lapka for over a decade and the gay couple exchanged vows in the posh holiday retreat the Hamptons on Saturday (03Sep11), just weeks after same-sex marriage came into force in the state.
The actor previously revealed he and Lapka had registered as domestic partners and had taken part in a special commitment ceremony last summer (10), but this weekend's union makes their marriage "official".
Revealing the news in a Twitter.com post to fans, he writes, "It's official, after 11 years together... Married the best man I've ever known."
Jackson also showed off a touching photo of the newlyweds on a beach.
The bill was passed by politicians in June (11), making New York only the sixth state to legally recognise same-sex marriages.
