Zachary Quinto and the cast of 'Stark Trek Beyond' have made a tribute video for the late actor Leonard Nimoy, who played the iconic role of Spock for over five decades.
Zachary Quinto has led a tribute video to 'Star Trek' legend Leonard Nimoy.
The 38-year-old actor remembered Leonard - who played the iconic character Spock across film and TV from 1964 to 2013 - as a ''champion of the arts'' who ''influenced countless scientists and artists'' and the entire cast of the sci-fi franchise.
Speaking in the video made for the Omaze campaign - which supports nine charities picked by the cast of 'Star Trek Beyond' - Zachary said: ''Through his legendary portrayal of Spock, he influenced countless scientists and artists - myself and the rest of the cast included.''
Leonard's successor - who took over as Spock in 2013's 'Star Trek Into The Darkness' - also complimented his ''love for the human spirit'' and said he will be ''greatly missed''.
He added: ''[His] love for the human spirit shone through everything he did, he touched lives around the world and he is greatly missed.''
The American movie star also admitted he misses Leonard - who died in February this year - a lot and is a ''better person'' for having known him.
Zachary told Metro newspaper: ''We talked about many things right up to the end. My memories are full of love and gratitude, and I miss him quite a bit.
''I feel that I'm an infinitely better person for knowing him. His was a really accomplished life and I think he left the world knowing that.''
Other cast members, including Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana and Idris Elba, were also featured in the clip filmed on the bridge of the USS Enterprise star ship.
