Woody Allen's adopted daughter Dylan Farrow released a letter to the New York Times detailing the sexual abuse she received from the film maker.

The now 28 year-old recalls, "When I was seven years old, Woody Allen took me by the hand and led me into a dim, closet-like attic on the second floor of our house."

Adding, "He told me to lay on my stomach and play with my brother's electric train set. Then he sexually assaulted me."

But the 'Blue Jasmine' director has hit back claiming these allegations to be "untrue and disgraceful".

Allen's publicist Leslee Dart released a statement, via email, on Sunday (Feb 2nd) which read, "Mr. Allen has read the article and found it untrue and disgraceful. He will be responding very soon. In the meantime, it is essential that your coverage make the following facts clear:

"At the time, a thorough investigation was conducted by court appointed independent experts. The experts concluded there was no credible evidence of molestation; that Dylan Farrow had an inability to distinguish between fantasy and reality; and that Dylan Farrow had likely been coached by her mother Mia Farrow. No charges were ever filed."

In the midst of Allen's affair with Mia Farrow's adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, an investigation was conducted in 1992 but no evidence was found to support claims of Allen molesting his children.

In the wake of the open letter, fans and critics are targeting Woody's actors who have starred in his several of his films, one being Alec Baldwin. But the outspoken 55 year-old isn't entertaining their jibes.

One of Baldwin's followers tweeted, "@ABFalecbaldwin don't you think maybe you owe #DylanFarrow an apology?" The clearly angry actor replied, "What the f&@% is wrong w u that u think we all need to b commenting on this family's personal struggle?"

Another disgruntled follower tweeted, "@ABFalecbaldwin disappointed in your response. You have 2 daughters. You should know better," to which he replied, "You are mistaken if you think there is a place for me, or any outsider, in this family's issue."
