Thirteen Senses

18/12/04 @ Leeds University

Having recently been on the road with such bands as Star sailor and more recently Travis. This was surely going to be a breeze? But winning over the mullet haired, flock of sea gull masses of the Charlatan die hard’s could be a different matter.

Opening for the Charlatans was never going to be an easy task for any band. But with two top forty hits under their belt, a few sing along tunes where in their armoury to draw upon.

Thirteen Senses - 18/12/04 @ Leeds University - Live Review

The venue was all most full when the band entered the stage.

Will South - vocals, guitar, keyboard, Tom Welham – guitar, Adam Wilson – bass and Brendon James – drums.

The band’s playing has been hardened by playing the circuit in Cornwall, this made for a very tight cohesive unit. This shows in their live performance, not being afraid and having the confidence to play some of their slower tracks from their album. Tracks of the evening where ‘ Into the fire’, ‘ Do no wrong’ and the up and coming new release ‘ Thru the glass’. Will’s voice was in good form, and drifted beautifully over the crowds. All in all a polished performance that set the tone of the night.

Their album ‘The Invitation ‘ has received rightful acclaim throughout the music press, there music influences can be heard thought out their music, Radiohead, Granddaddy, REM and Mercury Rev. With the release of the latest track ‘ Thru the glass’, released on the 5 th of Jan’05. I am sure this is the start of a great new year for Thirteen Senses.
