Fact: Folk act The Unthanks have picked up the Album of the Year prize at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for their ambitious Mount The Air. The album marries traditional Dorset folk with Miles Davis-inspired jazz. The band also closed the ceremony at London's Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday night (27Apr16). Joan Armatrading and Norma Waterson were also big winners, collecting lifetime achievement awards, while the late Sandy Denny was admitted to the hall of fame.
