Fact: Jack White's band The Dead Weather are to give their first live performance in five years on an upcoming episode of U.S. TV's The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this month (Sep15). The appearance will be to promote their new album Dodge and Burn, which is due for release on 25 September (15).

Fact: Punk icons Gang Of Four have recruited The Kills and The Dead Weather singer Alison Mosshart for their upcoming 2015 album. Mosshart will join group founder Andy Gill and his bandmates for the follow-up to 2011's acclaimed Content. What Happens Next, which will also feature vocals from German superstar Herbert Gronemeyer, will be released in the spring (15).

Fact: Jack White's band The Dead Weather will be playing a free show in London on Saturday night (31Oct09) to celebrate Halloween. The rockers will don fancy dress and are urging fans to attend covered in fake blood, with White insisting the most imaginative outfit will win a prize.
