Fact: Author Terry Pratchett has been knighted by British monarch Queen Elizabeth II. The writer was honoured for outstanding services to literature during a ceremony on Wednesday (18Feb09). Pratchett, who was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease in 2007, is best known for his hugely popular Discworld series of comic fantasy novels and has sold more than 55 million books worldwide.
Fact: British actor Sir David Jason has landed the lead role as in a movie adaptation of Terry Pratchett's Discworld. He will play a wizard in The Colour of Magic.
