Empire Stars Taraji P. Henson And Terrence Howard Have Branded Rumours Of An On-set Feud "Silly".
The pair play former married couple Cookie and Lucious Lyon in the hit drama but it was recently reported they don't get on behind the scenes.
A seemingly awkward exchange at the Emmys last month (Sept15) as they presented an award added fuel to the reports, and a representative for Henson spoke out to deny the speculation, insisting the two actors are "best of friends and professional colleagues."
Now the two stars have shot down the rumour by posting humorous footage online.
"HA! Word on THA street is Terrence and I don't get along!" Henson captioned the footage on Instagram.com. "Like I would fight to work with someone I DO NOT get along with?! Don't be silly, #GottaComeBetterThanThat #StupidRumors #DummysWastedPaperAndInkOnthatBS oh and watch #Empire tonight.(sic)."
In the video, the two are seen having a script read through before it goes 'awry'.
"You know what, I'm sick of you. You're such a diva," Taraji shouts with mock rage at Terrence. As he shouts back, actor Jussie Smollett, who plays one of their sons on the show, is seen cowering on the sidelines.
"Since I got you this job... Who do you think you are? Whatever, whatever," Taraji continues. "I'm sick of this!"
The actors then quickly wrap the skit up, turning to the camera together to tell viewers to watch the show, which has just began its second season.
"I love you, Terrence," Taraji adds as they give each other a kiss and a big hug.
While everything is good between the actors, Taraji did confess to being a bit sad that she didn't take home the outstanding lead actress award at the Emmys, losing out to Viola Davis.
"It was bittersweet, you know what I mean, because we all want to make history and be important to society and everything," Taraji told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. "But then I thought about it. I was like, 'It's 2015 and we have a black president and no black woman has ever won in this category...' I just thought to myself, 'God, just please give it to one of us so we will never have to say that again.' Let's just break this barrier down and keep on pushing."
