Suge Knight, the rap music mogul who is accused of robbery and murder in two separate cases, refused to leave his jail cell on Wednesday to face superior court judge Ronald S Coen in a hearing regarding the former charge. Knight said he was sick though a judge stopped short of having him forcibly removed.

Instead, judge Coen delayed Wednesday's hearing to coincide with Knight's hearing in his murder case, set for Friday (May 29). However, the judge said he would take a harder line with Knight, who is accused with the comedian Katt Williams of stealing a celebrity photographer's camera. In the other case, Knight is accused of running down two men with his pickup truck, killing one and seriously injuring the other.

"No one refuses to come to my court," Coen told a prosecutor.

Knight and Williams pleaded not guilty to taking the photographer's camera in Beverly Hills, while Knight also denies murder. His attorney said the incident which occurred near the set of the NOW biopic Straight Outta Compton came about after Knight attempted to flee an ambush. Judge Coen is determined that there is enough evidence for Knight to stand trial, though the mogul's attorney is to argue it should be dismissed at Friday's hearing.

Knight, who has prior convictions for armed robbery and assault with a gun, was a key player in the gangsta rap scene and his label Death Row Records boasted the talents of Dr Dre, Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg. He eventually lost control of the company after it was forced into bankruptcy.
