Steve-O is set to be jailed for 30 days for scaling a 100ft construction crane in Hollywood and setting off fireworks in a protest against the marine mammal park, Sea World, in August.
Steve-O is set to be jailed for 30 days.
The 'Jackass' star, who was charged with five misdemeanours, including vandalism and creating a false emergency, after setting off fireworks from a 100ft construction crane in Hollywood in a protest against marine mammal park Sea World in August, has been ordered to surrender himself to authorities on December 9, 2015 after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors on Wednesday (07.10.15).
The 41-year-old personality pled no contest to trespassing and possessing fireworks, and was placed on three years probation.
He was also ordered to stay out of Hollywood temporarily and pay $14,000 in restitution fees to the city, as 80 firefighters and 30 police officers responded to the incident.
Following the hearing, he said: ''Considering I've become a clean and sober, dog-rescuing vegan, I must say I'm ready to go to jail -- not just because it will bring so much attention to the plight of orcas in captivity, but because it's nice to let people know I haven't lost my edge. What can I say, I'm a jackass.''
The judge, who dismissed three other charges against the star, also banned him from owning fireworks and ruled he must secure a permit before performing any more stunts, according to the Los Angeles Times newspaper.
The strange incident was documented by Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Glover, in a series of bizarre videos posted to his Facebook page, in which he ascended the crane and indicated he was going to jump off, saying, ''It's stunt time''.
Several worried witnesses called for the emergency services as they believed he was going to commit suicide, but he eventually deciding to climb down an hour later.
In December, the TV star was fined for a similar stunt in which he climbed to the top of a San Diego freeway sign and changed it to read ''Sea World Sucks''.
