Songwriter RONALD JACKSON has laughed off rapper Soulja Boy's Twitter.com boast claiming credit for penning Willow Smith's catchy single WHIP MY HAIR.
The hip-hop star sparked controversy on the microblogging site on Sunday (02Jan11) when he declared he was the man responsible for coming up with the lyrics to the 10 year old's infectious hit song.
Referring to a snippet from his 2009 single Turn My Swag On, he wrote, "YES ITS TRUE I WROTE "WHIP MY HAIR" FOR WILLOW SMITH. THATS WHY SHE SAYS HOP OUT THE BED TURN MY SWAG ON. WE GETTING $$$ 2011 NO GAMES (sic)."
Soulja Boy's comments immediately came under scrutiny when it was retweeted by followers across the world - because songwriting team Ronald Jackson and Janae Rockwell are the only ones listed as the brains behind Whip My Hair.
Now Jackson, nicknamed Jukebox, has fired back at the 20 year old via his Twitter page - joking that Soulja Boy writing Smith's track is as funny as troubled rapper Waka Flocka Flame coming up with Michael Jackson's classic hit Thriller.
He writes, "awww s**t, its (sic) on blog sites now???!! lmao (laughing my a** off). Soulja wrote whip my hair??. . and waka flaka (sic) wrote "thriller" right? lol (laugh out loud).
"...i had NO IDEA soulja was in my house when i did that song!"
