The hip-hop icon, real name Ricky Walters, has teamed up with bosses at apparel firm Teespring to produce the white T-shirt, which features images of the La Di Da Di hitmaker's famous heavy gold chains around the neckline.

But the fashion venture won't last long - fans have until Wednesday (02Sep15) to buy the item, priced at $25.99 (£16.24), before it disappears from retailers for good.

A statement issued by Slick Rick reads: "I'm very excited to offer the public this first-ever item of clothing from me.

"I chose to partner with Teespring because their brand, like mine, is about self-expression and communicating a unique identity. The company's raw materials as well as its printing is the highest quality I could find."

Customers have been encouraged to post photos of themselves wearing the new T-shirt on social media with the hashtag #BeLikeTheRuler to be entered into a competition to meet Slick Rick.
