I Trust You To Kill Me
Album Review
Rocco Deluca & The Burden, who are they? Has anyone ever heard of him? Well not really, but since Kiefer Sutherland has been promoting them, they have certainly been put on the map. People have been going to check these guys out on the word of mouth of Mr Sutherland. Is this because of who he is? Whatever it is, does it really matter? Not a chance if you can get someone like Kiefer Sutherland to promote your band then that must be good press.
Rocco Deluca & The Burden are set to release the new album 'I Trust You To Kill Me'. This album has to offer a rollercoaster ride of Pop, Country and Rock, it is just mental. Lets be honest though it is always nice to hear a band that are not afraid to be different and try to go down a different route. So where do you start with this one? The start perhaps might be a good place! The opening track is very interesting because it sets you up into a false sense of security, with what is a an attempt at Kurt Cobain styled vocals. It sounds very much like Nirvana when they recorded MTV Unplugged. That's where the similarities stop. Even with the heaviest track 'Gravitate' would not touch any Nirvana track.
With 'Dope' the madness continues and it's like you have gone into a Country and Western. This has come straight out of the Saloon along with the cowboys banjo and all! If that really is the case, I have no idea. The Country Rock is then taken into effect and with tracks like 'Colourful', 'Swing Low' and 'Speak To Me'. This really is the male version of Shania Twain.
Nearing the end of the album and we arrive to a track called 'Soul', ironically there is absolutely no soul about this, a bit more Rock N Roll.
At the end of the day people have been interested in these on the back of Kiefer Sutherland, rightly or wrongly, but on the back of their music mr Jo public are lucky in the fact that they have managed to pick up a good album, although maybe two songs too long. Nobody's perfect though!
