Pharrell's famous Grammy hat is now up for auction on eBay and bids have already reached over $10,500.
The hat Pharrell wore at the 2014 Grammy Awards received so much interest that it became the subject of social media for most of the night. Now the exceedingly large fedora hat is available on eBay. Most likely due to the overwhelming publicity the hat received Pharrell decided to auction it off for the benefit of charity.
The bidding originally opened for only $200 on eBay and now it has reached $10,500 and will mostly rise higher before the auction closes. The Mountain hat was designed by British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood. On social media it was dubbed as a hat you would find on a park ranger or even in a Yogi Bear cartoon.
The One Hand to Another non-profit was established by Pharrell and was founded on the premise that it aims to change the world one kid at a time. The organization provides the tools and resources required by at-risk youth in order to exceed their potential.
Pharrell had a little fun on Twitter by tweeting Arbys and asking them if they wanted the hat.
'Hey @Arbys, you want my hat? Now's your chance.,' Pharrell tweeted to almost three million followers.
The tweet from Pharrell was in response to Arby's message to the artist about his hat during the Grammy Awards. `Hey @Pharrell, can we have our hat back? #GRAMMYs'
If you desire to get in on the bidding and don't mind spending thousands on a hat then you too can jump in on the auction. The auction is scheduled to end on March 2, but will not be available for delivery until around March 17 to March 21.
