The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, who previously sought help in rehab in June (15), reached out to U.S. TV therapist, Dr. Drew Pinsky, via Twitter.com during the holiday, admitting he could "sure use a pep talk".
Pinksy responded to Brendon's call for help, while the actor was also flooded with messages of support from friends and fans online.
The 44 year old subsequently thanked followers for their kind tweets, revealing he was battling a bad bout of depression, and a spokesperson for the actor took to Facebook.com to assure fans he will be OK, writing, "With the support of his family and friends, Nicholas is working toward his goal for a happy and healthy life. To all of you who have reached out to share your stories, thank you. Nick is reading your messages to fill his downtime with positivity. So many people suffer in silence. You are not alone."
Now it has been revealed the TV star had been involved in an altercation with a woman at her apartment on 3 July (15), when he reportedly smashed a window with his hands and then ran off.
Police officers and firefighters were called to the scene and authorities later found Brendon in an alley, with blood dripping from his cut hands.
He was admitted to a local hospital, but was not arrested for the incident, and according to TMZ.com, he decided to check himself into a treatment facility on 6 July (15).
During his June (15) rehab stay, Brendon received professional help for mental illness and substance abuse issues after being arrested on three occasions on suspicion of trashing hotel rooms and public intoxication following the breakdown of his short-lived marriage in February (15).
