British pop star Mutya Buena filed bankruptcy papers this week (begs22Sep14).
The former Sugababes singer has been declared bankrupt by a High Court judge after she was chased to settle unpaid taxes in the U.K.
Documents obtained by British newspaper The Sun show Buena owed government agency Companies House $36,000 (£22,500) and one of her firms, Scared Three Limited, was almost $16,000 (£10,000) in debt.
Her representatives tell the publication the singer blames the order on an "administrative error".
Buena split from U.K. girl group Sugababes in 2005 after seven years and embarked on a solo career until she was dropped by her record label in 2008. Last year (13), she released new music with the original Sugababes line-up under the title Mks but the comeback failed to make an impact in the U.K. charts.
