Minnie Driver ''loves'' dating.

The 43-year-old actress - who has a five-year-old son, Henry, from a previous relationship - enjoys going out with new guys but doesn't get much time to meet people and insists it isn't a top priority.

She said: ''Dating is fun. It's not really hard. I love dating, I just don't have very much time for it.

''I'm busy and I feel like that whole thing takes care of itself. I focus on Henry and work.''

If she does meet someone, the 'Hunky Dory' actress is adamant they won't get to meet her son until she is sure the relationship is going somewhere.

She told People magazine: ''No one meets Henry until very late in the game.''

Minnie also laughed off recent reports she is dating Ryan Kavanaugh, despite being pictured holding hands with the producer.

She explained: ''He's the executive producer of a movie I have coming out. He's my friend. I don't know where this idea came from. I'm not dating Ryan.

''He was holding my hand. There was a crush of people we were about to walk through as we were going down the stairs and he said, 'I'm going to get you through this,' like a friend. And he took my hand and that's how it was construed. He's my friend. I think people want me to be in love.''
