Melissa Rycroft, who found fame on reality TV competitions 'The Bachelor' and 'Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team', has injured herself during dance practice for 'Dancing With the Stars'.
"Melissa was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she is currently being examined," after falling during practice and injuring her head and neck, a representative for Rycroft told People. "She was accompanied to the hospital by her husband, Tye Strickland, and her dance partner, Tony Dovolani... Everyone is taking all necessary precautions at this time." There is, as yet, no word as to whether Rycroft and partner Dovolani will be able to compete today (22nd Oct. 2012), as one of 8 still left in the competition. NY Daily reports Dovolani's concerns, who tweeted "Really concerned about @MelissaRycroft. We don't know if we are dancing tomorrow [22nd Oct. 2012]!!!!! Please keep us in your prayers."
Reports say that Rycroft has now been released from hospital, but if the cheerleader-come-dancer can't perform on Wednesday, her place in the competition is certainly under threat. Would it be fair to the other seven contestants if she automatically went through to the following week? That will be for the producers to decide. We at ContactMusic wish her all the best and a speedy recovery!
