'Kingsman: The Secret Service' is getting a sequel following the success of the Matthew Vaughn-directed original.
'Kingsman: The Secret Service' is getting a sequel.
The 2014 spy action comedy film directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Colin Firth just topped $400 million at the global box office, and a sequel is now in the works at Fox, although there is no release date as of yet, TheWrap reports.
Samuel L Jackson, Michael Caine and Taron Egerton co-starred in 'Kingsman', which had an $80 million production budget.
Matthew also co-wrote the film with Jane Goldman and produced the movie, which was based on the comic book 'The Secret Service', created by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.
It was previously reported that Colin could star in a sequel for 'Kingsman', despite having been killed off in the first film.
The 54-year-old star appeared unlikely to return for the much-anticipated sequel after his on-screen character, Harry, was shot by Valentine - played by Samuel L Jackson - in the first movie.
Matthew previously said: ''A lot of people are very upset that Colin might not be in the sequel. But I'm coming up with ideas at the moment.
''If people buy tickets in America, I've got a feeling we'll figure out a way for having Colin back.''
