R&B star Lloyd is celebrating after finally receiving his high school degree more than a decade after dropping out.
The 30-year-old dropped out of Georgia's Stephenson High School before he could graduate, but last year (15), he decided to finish what he started and began studying for his GED at another Atlanta school, Therrell High.
In December (15), he completed the courses necessary to receive a diploma, and took to Instagram to show off his major accomplishment and share his gratitude for the support he'd been given over the past few months.
"I've gotten so many messages of love, gratitude, and encouragement from people on here and in my immediate circle everyday," he wrote. "Often I am overwhelmed by it and I have a hard time responding accordingly. I try not to sound generic, but I really do love and wish the best for everyone I meet here, and I want them to know how much it means to me that they have taken just a little time out of their day to write me.
"I want to say thank you to you for your enthusiasm and love, not just towards me, but towards music culture and each other as a whole. I hope this message reaches you all in kind, for if it weren't for your love I'm not sure what I'd do, or where I'd be."
And over the weekend (14-15May16), the Get It Shawty singer was able to finally walk across the stage to receive his diploma as a high school graduate, along with the other members of Therrell's Class of 2016.
He took to Instagram to share a photo of himself proudly wearing a red graduation cap and gown.
"Congrats to my fellow #graduates!!!," he wrote. "Was nice meeting you and your families and may you all enjoy this moment in time!"
Lloyd also shared another photo of himself surrounded by family and friends who attended the graduation ceremony.
