Leona Lewis had to be talked into accepting a role in musical comedy 'Holiday!' because she worried what her fans would think.
Leona Lewis was ''scared'' about accepting her first acting role.
The 'Bleeding Love' hitmaker is set to star in 80s musical comedy 'Holiday!' next year and she was apprehensive about taking on the role of Elena, best friend to two sisters who fall for the same man, because she is best known as a singer.
She exclusively explained to BANG Showbiz: ''I was really like, 'What if people say she's just trying to get into acting?' My friend was just like, 'It's your life! You should experience as much as possible. Anyone else would jump at the opportunity to do something like this.' So I just wanted to do it.''
The 28-year-old beauty studied acting while in theatre school but admits it was a ''whole new world'' when she stepped on to the movie set for the first time.
She said: ''I haven't done anything like that in a while. I've always wanted to get into it properly. I did a lot of walk-on parts and things like that but that was quite a long time ago. Getting back into it has been an eye-opener ... it's a whole new world, it's a whole different headspace.
''That's kind of why I wanted to put myself in it. I was scared about doing it at first, but it's good - it's good to feel that fear and do something you've never done before.
''I remember someone said to me, 'When was the last time you did something for the first time?' And I was like, I have to do it now, I have to go for it.''
