Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's arrival at JFK Airport in New York set off a security scare on Tuesday morning (February 12, 2013) when a star-struck staffer helped the pair bypass an important security checkpoint. The power couple had returned from Brazil and were swiftly moved through customs and transferred to a flight bound for Los Angeles without passing through the screening area, according to the New York Daily News.

"An airline employee escorted the two travelers through a non-public area in order to provide expedited access to their domestic flight," an American Airlines spokesman said. "In doing so, the airline employee violated security protocols by permitting the travelers to bypass the TSA security checkpoint." Officials learned of the violation and promptly conducted a private screening of the couple, who were then cleared to board their flight. The connecting flight to Los Angeles was delayed for roughly an hour while the superstar couple were security checked, probably to the ire of many ordinary passengers. Kardashian ultimately made it back to the west-coast in time to appear at Sir Philip Green's opening of his flagship Topshop and Topman stores at The Grove in Los Angeles.

The parents-to-be were spotted enjoying the Carnival celebrations in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday.
