Kim Kardashian West has gushed over meeting ''beautiful'' Cher at the Met Gala last night (04.05.15).

The 34-year-old reality TV star - who attended the event with her husband, rapper Kanye West - looked stunning in a daring, white, Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli number, which was inspired by the embellished feathered creation the 'Believe' hitmaker wore to the Gala in 1974.

She wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of Cher's iconic gown: ''Tonight's inspiration! Cher at the 1st ever Met Gala! I just met her and told her this photo was my inspiration for my dress tonight! She is so beautiful! So happy I met her!''

The raven-haired beauty also shared a photograph of herself with Cher after bumping into her at the event.

Having just returned from a trip to Armenia, where she found out about her family's heritage, Kim also revealed that she spoke about the country with 68-year-old singer.

She wrote: ''This beauty, this icon! I'm so so happy I met her! We spoke about our amazing Armenian journeys!''

The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star also posted a picture of herself and Jennifer Lopez - who was wearing a very similar red dress by Peter Dundas - on the social media site which showed off their famous behinds as they made their way into the gala.

She captioned the photo: ''With my idol @JLo by Kanye (sic)''.
