Since the news of Prince’s untimely death broke on Thursday evening, fans and fellow artist have been sharing their memories of the iconic musician. But one epic Prince moment that’s resurfaced online is the time in 2011, when he kicked Kim Kardashian off the stage during a concert in Madison Square Garden.

On Friday (April 22nd) the video went viral, with Kim’s awkward moment giving Prince fans a moment of comic relief in the midst of their mourning. Responding to the video’s reemergence online, Kardashian tweeted on Friday: 'I will always remember this moment with one of my favourite artists! I was so star struck I froze! RIP Prince.'

But Kardashian’s tweet just put her up for more ridicule, as many twitter users pointed out that, rather than having a special moment with Prince, he had kicked her off the stage. During the 2011 concert Kim had joined Prince onstage, but the Purple One was left less than impressed by her dancing skills.

After Kim froze, Prince dismissed her by saying "Get off the stage!” Before adding, “Welcome to America!” as the crowd cheered. At the time Kim had tried to explain herself by tweeting: ‘OMG Prince just pulled me up on stage!!! I'm shaking!!!!’

‘I was so nervous I froze when Prince touched me!!!!’ Kim then claimed that she had redeemed herself later in the evening when Prince was playing the piano. ‘Went up on stage AGAIN! This time I redeemed myself!’ she tweeted. ‘We all danced while Prince played the piano! Wow! What a night!’
