Kim Kardashian has dropped a lawsuit against a gossip site that had claimed she staged the much-discussed armed robbery in Paris earlier this month, after her lawyer said that the two sides had resolved the issue.

American celebrity gossip website MediaTakeOut alleged that the 35 year old model and reality TV star had faked being robbed at gunpoint in a luxury apartment in the French capital at the start of October. The outlet had also claimed that she made a fraudulent insurance claim for millions of dollars’ worth of jewellery that was taken in the robbery.

Kardashian had said that she would be taking the website to court over the claims, with a defamation lawsuit lodged in New York against MediaTakeOut and its owner Fred Mwangaguhunga.

Court papers said that Kim: “returned to the United States only to again be victimised, but this time by an online gossip tabloid that published a series of articles in early October 2016 referring to her a liar and thief.”

However, the site issued an apology on Monday (October 24th), after which West announced that she would drop the suit.

“After speaking to sources, including some connected to the Kardashians, we are now confident and without a doubt believe that Kim Kardashian was robbed as was reported to the Paris police,” the website wrote. “Anyone who is still questioning it is wrong.”

In the aftermath of the terrifying incident, filming of Kim’s reality show, ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’, was put on hold, she cancelled all scheduled public appearances and took some time off from social media, with the Paris police hinting that she had made herself a target for a crime like this by flaunting her lavish lifestyle online.
