Ahead of accepting the Break The Internet Award at this year’s Webby Awards ceremony, Kim Kardashian joked that she “doesn’t think anyone wants to see” her in the nude.

The 35 year old reality star spoke to chat show host Ellen DeGeneres via FaceTime on Monday (May 16th), hours before she was due to accept the award, while she was busy in the make-up chair getting ready and choosing her dress.

In the interview, which was broadcast the following day, Kim had a brainstorming session with DeGeneres about how she would frame her very short acceptance speech, which by Webbys convention has to be only five words long.

“I thank Ellen Lee DeGeneres,” the comedian suggested, followed by: “You're welcome for nude selfies.” Kim then proposed: “Long live the nude selfie”, which was not far from what she actually said on the Webbys podium later that night: “Nude selfies ‘til I die”.

Mother-of-two Kardashian was bestowed with the award for the notorious moment back in March when the naked selfie she took set alight the internet in a discussion about female liberation, which saw celebrities such as Chloe Grace Moretz, Bette Midler, Pink and Emily Ratajkowski pile in with their opinions.

Discussing what she would be wearing that night, Kardashian said: “My dress is being sewn in the back… …I could always go nude.”

When we're like...we both have nothing to wear LOL @emrata

The idea was met with cheers from the audience and DeGeneres herself. “Do it! Do that!” the host said. “I don't think anyone wants to see that,” Kardashian added slyly.

“Clearly nobody ever looks at those things that you post,” DeGeneres replied, tongue very much in cheek, referring to the star’s 70.4 million Instagram followers.
