The former Olympian-turned-reality TV star went public with his lifelong gender identity crisis during a revealing interview with U.S. newswoman Diane Sawyer in April (15), and now he has made his debut as a woman in a new photoshoot with legendary photographer, Annie Leibovitz.

Vanity Fair bosses took to Twitter.com on Monday (01Jun15) to share the cover image, in which Jenner is featured wearing an ivory corset with curly long hair and make-up.

The headline simply reads: "Call me Caitlyn".

Editors also released behind-the-scenes video footage from the shoot, which took place at Jenner's Malibu, California home.

In the clip, Jenner narrates, "Caitlyn doesn't have any secrets. As soon as the Vanity Fair cover comes out, I'm free."

The video also shows Caitlyn wearing a form-fitting black dress and an off-the-shoulder evening gown, among other looks, and in the shoot's accompanying interview, Jenner tells writer Buzz Bissinger of his relief at finally coming clean about his secret, saying, "If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, 'You just blew your entire life.'"

Meanwhile, Jenner, who finalised his divorce from Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner last year (14), celebrated the big unveiling by setting up a new Twitter.com page under his new identity.

She writes, "I'm so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can't wait for you to get to know her/me."

The profile racked up over 450,000 followers within an hour of going live.
