The daughter of director Kevin Smith appeared on ‘Good Morning America’ to talk about the terrifying experience.
Harley Quinn Smith the teenage daughter of director Kevin Smith has described how she was almost kidnapped by “fake Uber drivers” in Los Angeles. Smith first spoke about the ordeal on her Instagram page on Sunday, but on Friday she appeared on ‘GMA’ to tell her story and offer a warning to others.
"It was very, very scary," Smith said. "The second I started talking to them, I realized they were definitely not Uber drivers. They had just printed off the Uber symbol and put it on their car." However the incident has not put her off using the service and after she reported the incident to the police, she used an Uber to get home.

"I proceeded to take an Uber because you can't let things like that stop you from living your life," Smith added. In a lengthly Instagram post on Sunday Smith described in detail what had happened in the Brentwood area of California.
‘I was just standing outside a Starbucks in Brentwood, where I was waiting for my Uber when a large, beige car drove up to me and tried to get me to think they were my Uber,’ Smith wrote. ‘When I asked who they were there to pick up, making sure it was the right car, they wouldn't answer me and said to get in the car.’
‘They didn't have the uber app on their phone and were clearly just two disgusting dudes trying to kidnap a girl standing on her own. Protect yourself and never ever get in a car without checking that it's the correct car first!!!’

After her ordeal, Smith’s father, director Kevin Smith, tried to cheer his daughter up by presenting her with a chocolate cake which read ‘sorry men suck’. Sharing a pic of the cake on Instagram Smith wrote: ’Just when I was about to lose faith in humanity after almost being kidnapped today, my dad got me this cake and made me remember that some people, like himself, make the world a lot better :)’,
