Kendall Jenner has caused quite a stir for her latest publicity shots, drawing criticism for taking part in a photoshoot that required her to dress as a ballerina – when she has no experience in ballet at all.

The 20 year old American fashionista posed as a dancer in a video shoot for Vogue Spain this week. She could be seen dancing around a ballet studio in slow motion, in a series of outfits and pointe shoes in a “cute” way.

However, followers on Instagram got so heated up, arguing that Jenner had “appropriated” a fine art form which takes years to master by using it for fashion purposes and paying it no respect, that the comments had to be switched off.

This didn’t stop people from venting about it and sounding off on Twitter, however.

“Why did Kendall Jenner do a ballet photo shoot INSTEAD OF AN ACTUAL BALLERINA,” demanded one person. Another added, “Kendall Jenner’s ballet photo shoot is literally SO offensive you can’t just put on pointe shoes and go for it oh my god.”

Furthermore, The New York Post’s Page Six noticed via a screen-grabbed conversation on the website Shade Room that Lifetime’s ‘Dance Moms’ star Abby Lee Miller also criticised Jenner’s photoshoot – and even implored the family to take Kim Kardashian’s daughter North West to dance lessons!

“I cannot be a fan of this shoot,” the 51 year old dance instructor wrote. “There are so many amazing dancers in the world… Kendall Jenner is not one of them! Shame on Momager, Kris Jenner!!! She never made these kids take dance class. She better get North West to the @aldcstudiola before it’s too late!”
