The “Natural Born Killers” film star has taken the lead role and created her first band - Juliette and the Licks.

The single, released on 17 th May 2005, is similar to Hole. Basically she’s like a brunette Courtney Love. The tracks not too bad for their first outing, however, she’s not the first Hollywood ‘solo’ star to release a single. Russell Crowe and Lindsey Lohan have also left the big screen in search of pop stardom.
I think I’d have to hear more from their new album to be convinced, scheduled for spring 2005 release.

The track is very energetic however the lyrics are a little repetitive. It has strong guitar riffs and OK vocals. I can maybe hear a slight influence from The Pretenders.

The band will be playing at this years Reading and Leeds festival on the weekend of August 27 th and 28 th.
