Joe Simpson has offered to officiate ex-wife TINA SIMPSON's upcoming wedding.

The 55-year-old former pastor and the stylist, who are the parents of pop stars Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, split in 2012 after 34 years of marriage amid allegations he is gay, but are trying to ''bury the hatchet'' following Tina's recent engagement to landscape gardener Jon Goldstein.

A source told US OK! magazine: ''Tina said yes because she's ready to forgive. The split was nasty, with accusations of cheating. This is an olive branch.''

A spokesperson for Tina confirmed her engagement to Jon in June, saying: ''After 2 years of dating, Jon Goldstein and Tina Simpson are engaged. They are thrilled and completely in love!''

Jessica and Ashlee are ecstatic their mother, 55, has found love again.

An insider previously revealed: ''They're happy that their mom is happy.

''He's a really nice guy. He's always cared about Tina...He's known them for 15 years and has been a part of their family. He's so happy she said yes! I know he had been planning on asking her for a while.''
