Idlewild If It Takes You Home Single

Scottish rockers Idlewild have been around for over a decade, yet have always seemed to be on the periphery of the British music scene. Perhaps at their most popular with 2003's "The Remote Part" record (it charted at number three), their devoted fans will no doubt be out in force for the band's tour in March.

Taken from the forthcoming "Make Another World" album, "If It Takes You Home" opens in a style that is vaguely reminiscent of Green Day's "American Idiot" track - a heavy riff to announce the quintet's return and grab your attention. Dynamic and with high-tempo, it rumbles along pleasantly enough, but fails to have a certain je ne sais quoi to make you really fall in love with it. Solid but unspectacular, Roddy Woomble and company continue to plod along in a predictable fashion.
