Mexican filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro has revealed he's still keen to make a 'Pacific Rim' sequel.
Guillermo Del Toro is still keen to make a 'Pacific Rim' sequel.
The 50-year-old filmmaker - who helmed the original movie in 2013 - has claimed efforts are still being made to create a sequel, despite its underwhelming performance at the US box office.
He said: ''We are still turning in a screenplay and a budget in three weeks.
''As far as I'm concerned, it's not gone. We're still on it.''
The Mexican director insisted the delay in making the movie is only temporary and does not suggest that it'll never reach the big screen.
He told Entertainment Weekly: ''It moved further. I may do another movie in the middle.''
Meanwhile, 'Pacific Rim' star Charlie Hunnam admitted recently that he missed the opportunity to appear in 'Fifty Shades of Grey' to feature in another of Guillermo Del Toro's movies, 'Crimson Peak', which he had accepted first.
He said: ''It was the worst professional experience of my life. It was the most emotionally destructive and difficult thing that I've ever had to deal with professionally. It was heartbreaking.
''I really, really pride myself on being a professional and a man of keeping my word. It means a lot to me, truly.''
