The star, who has enjoyed Hollywood roles in The Great Gatsby and The Man From U.N.C.L.E., will be handed the prestigious honour at the upcoming event in Los Angeles.

She will share it with another screen star, who will be named nearer the event next month (Oct15), and producer Bruna Papandrea will accept the Orry Kelly International Award.

Papandrea tells the Sydney Daily Telegraph, "No matter where I have lived, or how my career has changed, I remain the proudest Australian you'll ever meet. It is my home, my heart, my inspiration, which is why it is a tremendous honour to receive this award."

The ceremony will be hosted by Australian TV presenter Carrie Bickmore in L.A. on 21 October (15).
