The 37-year-old discussed her former The View co-host's departures on Friday (27th June) during Fox & Friends. Of Shepherd's departure from the show after seven years, Hasselbeck said "I was shocked, in some ways."

Hasselbeck also said she believed Shepherd was also likely to be shocked by the network's decision, adding "I'm sure [Shepherd's shocked]. Even if you think that might happen one day, I'm sure it would come across to be a shock." She did, however, admit she had not yet spoken to Shepherd in person but felt she would soon hear from her.

Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy both announced they would be leaving the morning talk show last week which has prompted speculation into who would be taking their places. The View's hosting panel has changed drastically over the last two years with long running hosts of 17 years Joy Behar and Barbara Walters leaving within a year of each other. Hasselbeck, who left in July of last year, had hosted the show for ten years.

The news of Shepherd's departure comes in the wake of her personal and legal troubles. Shepherd filed for divorced from her husband of three years Lamar Sally and is currently engaged in a legal battle over custody of their unborn child, via a surrogate.
