Review of Self Titled Album by Eighteen Visions

Album Review
18V appear to be really stretching the boundaries of metalcore to breaking point with this offering, as from time to time it would seem to occupy the same territory made popular by 1990s Skid Row. Still, no one under the age of 25 remembers them anyway, so it doesn't really matter does it?
Anyway, this is a huge, glossy, melodic, anthem farm of an album. 'Victim' in particular is a masterpiece of rock songwriting, and should ensure a huge MTV rotation. Choruses like giant behemoth airships float above perfectly processed guitars and sweetly compressed drums.
It's not hard to imagine the backlash against this album though, given the band's previous work. Broken Hearted is so saccharine that anyone over 21 will surely gag, and to jaded ears most of the album will sound like a hilarious hard rock parody.
