Looking at the band name you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s just hippy gush. That’s what I thought until I put the record on and discovered that ‘Earth…’ are in fact trippy rock ‘n’ roll with enough anger to fill a Premiership stadium. I think the name is a bit of a piss take on the whole US West Coast culture but whatever, it’s great! ‘In the Garden’ sounds really psychedelic mixed with The Beach Boys and emo but ‘Earth the Californian Love Dream’ jumps you with scuzzy guitars and dirtier bass lines. Don’t be put of by the name – you’d be missing an excellent band.
