The alleged hate crime by Dylann Roof, who stands accused of opening fire at a weekly Bible study session at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church on Wednesday (17Jun15), rocked communities all over the U.S. and prompted musicians including John Legend, Beyonce, Flea, Mandy Moore, Ne-Yo and Ryan Adams to condemn the shootings and send their prayers to the families of the victims on Twitter.com.

Delta Rae, who are based in nearby North Carolina, took their feelings about the tragedy into the studio to record a track called All Good People and they released the tune on YouTube.com on Thursday (18Jun15), as their fellow country men and women were still processing the sad news.

In an accompanying message, the members of Delta Rae called for tighter gun control to help prevent other senseless shootings across the U.S.

They wrote: "Our hearts and prayers are with the families of those killed in Charleston, SC last night. These tragedies have got to STOP... It's time to push our leaders to act. All good people must raise their voices. We need to protect every member of our community from hate and racism. And we need to stop so much of this violence by limiting access to guns... This is not the country we want to be. These actions do not represent our values."
