Sheridan Smith Paid Tribute To Cilla Black At Britain's Tv Choice Awards On Monday Night (07sep15) As She Took Home A Top Acting Prize For Playing The Late Entertainer In A Small Screen Biopic.
Smith won Best Actress for her portrayal of the singer/TV star, who died in August (15), aged 72, in TV drama Cilla and she honoured Black as she accepted the award, telling the audience at London's Park Lane Hotel, "Obviously, it's tinged with sadness... It's an absolute honour and privilege to play such an amazing lady. Thank you, Cilla."
Former Doctor Who star David Tennant was named Best Actor for his role in crime drama Broadchurch, while the show also won Best Drama Series.
Period romance series Poldark, starring The Hobbit actor Aidan Turner, took Best New Drama and Call the Midwife was named Best Family Drama.
