'Harry Potter' producer David Heyman has targeted mobile game 'Temple Run' as his next big movie project.
'Harry Potter' producer David Heyman is bringing 'Temple Run' to the big screen.
The film maven - who is behind the blockbuster wizarding series and also produced the recently released space thriller 'Gravity' - and film studio Warner Bros. are in talks to acquire the rights to the popular mobile game.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film would centre on an explorer, who, after stealing an idol from a temple, is chased by demonic forces.
Heyman would produce the flick for Warner Bros., with whom he worked on 'Harry Potter' and 'Gravity', while Lynn Harris will oversee the project for the studio.
'Temple Run' has been a big hit with smartphone users, becoming one of the best-selling apps in the world, since its release in 2011. The game spawned a sequel earlier this year that is on course to match the success of its predecessor.
The game was developed and published by Imangi Studios, who have previously created tie-in versions for Disney movies 'Brave' and 'Oz the Great and Powerful' as part of those films' marketing campaigns.
Heyman, meanwhile, is also in talks to reunite with 'Harry Potter' author J.K. Rowling to produce new spin-off franchise, 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'.
