David Cronenberg wants to cast Robert Pattinson and Viggo Mortensen in a film together.
The director has worked with Viggo on a number of films, and with Robert for the first time on 'Cosmopolis', and thinks they would have great on screen chemistry.
He told Empire Magazine: ''Viggo and I are Kindred souls. We love each other in a very personal way and we keep in touch all the time. ''Rob is a lot younger but I believe him when he says that he wants to do something else with me.
''He and Viggo would be great in a movie together. They'd get along fantastically and the energy between them would be fantastic.''
Robert - who plays the lead role in 'Cosmopolis' - has been very enthusiastic about working with David, particularly after reading his script for the film, about a billionaire who's whole life unravels after he stops for a haircut.
He said: ''With 'Cosmopolis' there was such a specific voice from the very beginning. It's just really well written.
''Most scripts are really s**t and you're just thinking 'how can I make it better?' but this one, all you had to do was just say it. A really s****y actor could just sit there and say it and make it sound really good.''
'Cosmopolis' is in cinemas from Friday (15.06.12).
