David Beckham has shared a picture of his new eagle tattoo.

The 40-year-old retired soccer star has had yet another piece of artwork added to his body and this time he opted to have the bird of prey etched near his left armpit.

Sharing a photo of his newest piece on Instagram, he captioned the post ''just another'' and tagged his local tattoo parlour, the Shamrock Social in Hollywood.

He wrote: ''Just another... RISE ABOVE @shamrocksocialclub (sic)''

The new design comes within weeks of having two tattoos in tribute of his fashion designer wife Victoria Beckham and their 4-year-old daughter Harper.

The heartthrob previously shared a photo of his ''Hey Pretty Lady' Harper-inspired scroll he had on his neck and thanked his regular artist Mark Mahoney.

He previously wrote: ''Hey Pretty Lady .... Just adding to the collection of tattoos that mean so much to me... Thanks Mark as always looks amazing ... @shamrocksocialclub (sic)''

And for Posh he had the number 99 inked on his little finger as it's the year they got married and shared a picture of the tattoo on the app with the caption: ''99 was a good year for me.''

The sportsman already had tribute ink for his and Victoria's other children, Brooklyn Beckham, 16, who he was the words ''Brooklyn'' on his lower back, Romeo, 12, has his name on the nape of his neck and Cruz, 10, below his 12-year-old brother's.
